Hi! I'm super excited to begin my blog here on the MAMS Library website! In this space you will be able to find out what I'm reading, what I want to read, and also hear what I think about the books I have finished reading.
As you know, I am the Library Media Specialist here at MAMS. You can click here if you would like to know more a bit about me, but in short, I love to travel, shop, learn new things, and perform research on just about anything. And of course, I LOVE to read.
I have created this space to share my love of reading with you. I totally understand that you might not be as enthusiastic as I am about reading, but I hope that you will take a look at what I have to say and pick up a book of your choice to read. Whether a book is required for independent reading in English class, or for your own personal interest, please check out what the MAMS Library has to offer and choose a book that sounds interesting to you! Once you select the books you would like to read, you can stop by the library to check them out, or fill out this MAMS Library Book Request Form for "curbside pickup."
If you need book suggestions, you can take a look at our Book Buzz page where I have created lists of MAMS library books by genre, search the MAMS Library Catalog, pop by the library to have a chat with moi, or shoot me an email with your questions at [email protected] and we can figure something out together. My goal is to get that perfect book in your hands, so please let me know how I can help!
Before I go, I'll leave you with two of my favorite quotes about reading and the title of the book that I'm about to start:
"Reading is the key that opens doors to many good things in life. Reading shaped my dreams, and more reading helped me make my dreams come true.” ~ Ruth Bader Ginsburg
“Once you learn to read, you will be forever free” ~Frederick Douglass
As for me, I'm going to settle down and start reading this book:
From the Desk of Zoe Washington - it's a both a mystery and a book about social justice. I've heard great things and I cannot wait to read it!
See you next week!
~Mrs. M
